Stretching, Working Out, & Massage

So if there was a trifecta of healthy activities what would I consider them to be: stretching, working out, and massage. Here's my reasoning on this and remember this is separate and distinct from things like a healthy diet and good sleep and regular doctors visits. Healthy activity alone can do so much for people if they would just be a little bit more consistent about it. As a massage therapist I can tell you with years of experience that you can tell a difference if somebody works out even a half an hour a week compared to somebody who does not.

Stretching is vital to make sure that your body knows what its range of motion needs to be rather than what your lifestyle requires of it to be. This can reduce the amount of pulled muscles and damaged tissues throughout your life by simply stretching. Working out is another one that I think it's very important for people to understand. Working out can be classified as something as little as walking to doing several hours of weight lifting a day. Simply burning excess calories by doing more than the day-to-day activities in my opinion is working out. Burning those excess calories and strengthening the body by simply moving around and lifting things does a tremendous amount for your overall health. Finally I would say that massage being the last part of that trifecta of good activity really comes down to getting back in touch with your body and being calm within your body. And somebody who suffers from functional neurological disorder I can tell you the disconnect between the mind and the body is not only a real thing but that it has consequences. Understanding the connection between the mind and the body is important and being Nabel to reconnect with your body in a positive way like massage means a great deal in your long-term overall health.
