Cooling Blankets

Cooling blankets or another big area right now or people have been asking some questions. I think the reason for this is twofold: the first being that the technology has come around to where these products are far more effective than they used to be. Two I think people are far more willing to invest in products like this when the cost of energy is going up so fast and this could be a very useful investment that will pay off fast. One of the most important things people can do at home without the supervision of their doctor is to test their sleep environment for tweaking to improves sleep. Things like temperature and noise levels can have a significant impact on your quality of sleep not to mention the light level and if you prefer to sleep alone. Things like the use of medication or breathing problems are often pointed which medical professional help is absolutely necessary.

So let's talk a little bit about what cooling blankets are and what their potential benefits are. Cooling blankets in the modern era are made of a series of thin synthetic fibers and some natural fibers including cotton. These blankets tend to have a single or double weave and usually weigh a significantly lighter then most. Many older versions of cooling blankets are usually made of thin layers of cotton that have larger holes in them think of a throw or afghan. The interesting part of the move to more high-tech synthetic fibers is the ability to machine weave these fibers where traditional materials were easier to put together but tend to require either specialty equipment or had to be handmade all together.

Cooling blankets could be great for those individuals who have sensitive skin along with the problems regulating temperature. Even though this would not commonly be used in a massage studio it can be incredibly useful for home use. A great example of this would be taking a baby out into a warmer day you still want them to be covered but not be sweating. Speaking of that example I think it's also important for people to realize that many of these blankets require gentle cleaning and air drying to prevent sweat from blocking the pores of the blankets reducing their impact. I think these are wonderful products even for people that live in the northern United States because even in cooler climate in areas everyone's preferences to hot and cold are very different.
