Spring 2021 Newsletter

Thank You

I know that for most of you reading these updates year after year you see it every time but I want to say it again, Thank You. Every dollar you spend goes to make your sessions better and to support me and my family. You vote with your money every time you come in for a session. Thank you for the referrals that allow me to help more people.

End of Covid Restrictions

There has been some questions from more than a few potential clients and regular clients about when I will no longer have Covid19 mask and online booking questions. The simple answer is when the state and city lifts the restrictions on personal service businesses. I will say this regarding mask wearing: any client who requests masks be worn during a session after general restrictions are lifted I will do so by request and that will be on the appointment software for the foreseeable future. Regarding vaccinations those who are vaccinated will still be required to wear mask. I will not disclose whether I have gotten a vaccine or not to any client and it is not a valid reason to cancel a session.

Changes Coming: Perform (and what that means for everyone)

PERFORM. This is the name of the newest service to come to Tony Schwartz Bodywork. The roll out of this service is 10 years in the making. This new service is designed to go beyond massage and go into the full spectrum of bodywork. PERFORM is a system to identify and target key points in the athletic performance chain that contribute to injury and/or inhibit performance. This system takes a client through a detailed evaluation process and then together we work in 90 minute sessions to correct problems. Sometimes clients will be getting sports massage, corrective exercises, sometimes cupping. Massage services do cover all of my techniques excluding corrective exercise (the reasoning being that corrective exercise requires a plan and not unlike personal training and physical therapy follow up visits). Ask me if this is right for you during your next visit. I will be releasing video and other information soon. As a result of perform sessions I have purchased new equipment and room furnishings which will be changed out soon as well.

No Price Increases Planned

A number of personal services companies have been raising prices in 2020 and 2021. These prices increases may have been planned before the pandemic. In other cases from those I have been talking to are indicating that the cost of PPE and other Covid19 related lost revenue is forcing price increases. Finally, I have spoken to others who say because they are in the middle of the pack in terms of price and other businesses that they think are lower priced competitors now coming to their price level they have no choice but to raise their own in order to maintain their image among the public as to the value they get for the money. I have no reason to raise my prices as of now. I currently sit in the middle price point for the services I provide. If there becomes a reason to do so I will provide notice to all clients.

CBD

Some of you may already know I partnered with North Star Hemp to provide six of their most popular and effective products. From muscle cream, roll on hemp, and even their famous pet drops. All of these products are Minnesota grown and processed. These are two local guys making products that are simple and effective. You must be 18 to buy topical and pet products and 21 for their new CBD chewables. Later this year you will be able to reserve them online when you book an appointment. I offer them for sale and you can request I apply it before you go or during you session.

Session Scheduling

There has been an interesting change in the way people book their sessions due to COVID-19 restrictions as well as a change in how businesses choose to employ their employees. Clients appeared to be attempting to book within 24 hours to less than three hours for any open sessions I may have. Some days like Saturdays are booking out 3 to 4 days in advance on some weekends (no all). While evening appointments during the week are being left open. This change in behavior is causing problems throughout the massage industry in Minnesota. So my advice is very simple book in advance and cancel within two hours if you need to. The world is starting to open back up and sessions are starting to book and very odd clusters I have time to see people, but they can't all be at the same day at the same time so please book in advance to the best of your ability.
