Active Shooter Training: Why should I be prepared?
Active shooter incidents are unpredictable, and they can evolve rapidly. During the chaos, anyone involved can play a vital role in lessening the impact of an active shooter incident. Recent active shooter emergencies have revealed the importance of a rapid and clear-headed response. Every second counts when active violence occurs and active shooter training with AVIRT teaches you the skills and tools to quickly react, evaluate options, make decisions, and potentially save lives. Active shooter awareness is a key training tool. Incidents can happen anywhere at any time. Being able to react quickly to life-threatening situations is critical in any environment, whether at school, in the office, or in public spaces. With AVIRT, you will learn situational awareness and how to adopt an active shooter response plan so you can take fast action in the event of an emergency.
Active Violence Immediate Response Training (AVIRT), gives knowledge & confidence to escape, evade or attack during an active violence incident.
AVIRT teaches the general public how to respond in the case of active violence. The possibility of shootings and intentional violence in organizational contexts is increasing. For that reason, AVIRT (Active Violence Immediate Response Training) is essential for all organizations: schools, college campuses, businesses, churches, and health care facilities to name a few. If you are not part of group but still want to learn consider one of our regularly scheduled classes at our site.
AVIRT goes far beyond standard lockdown protocols in the case of active violence. Our training focuses on skills once reserved for first responders, now adapted for the public. Being informed and prepared for an active shooter or other violent situations is crucial. Empower yourself and others to respond effectively when violence occurs to save lives. AVIRT is an active shooter training course that also enables you to become an immediate responder by learning emergency techniques.

Early Warning Signs of a potential active violence event
Escape, Evade, and Attack techniques, and how to quickly select which one(s) to use
Situational Awareness, a life skill that has been overlooked in our technology-driven and sensory-overloaded lives. Regaining and practicing this skill helps you understand when to act.
Emergency Bleeding Control Techniques are important and potentially life-saving skills since one of the leading causes of preventable deaths in the U.S. is uncontrolled bleeding.

Defend and Attack strategies when escape is not possible
Live Scenario Exercises to build confidence and decision-making under pressure
Class Details
Cost: $90.00 Per Person
You can Book, Cancel, or Reschedule: Up to 72 hours (3 days) in advance of the classroom date
Appropriate Ages: Age-12+ (under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign up and pay)
Physical Requirements: Training is provided to each person’s ability.
Requirements for Onsite Class:
Group Class space must have desk/table for every person in the class.
A screen, Projector, or TV with HTMI ports to plug presentation materals
Bathrooms
(signage will be posted outside the classroom to alert others that the sound of simulated gunfire, simulated weapons use maybe heard or in view).
Time to Complete:
BLENDED: On-line - 1 hour & In-class - 3 hours = 4 hours
Class (no online before) = 4 hours
Online Only without certification = 1 hour
Class Sizes: Must have at least 4 people for a group class and no more than 15 people (if more we can add more instructors) . Individual people for the class will have a location marked on booking.
Certificate Issued: By email you provide on completion of both the online and then classroom sessions.
Certificate Valid: 2 years

Weapons Notice:
It is the policy of HSI and this instructor that absolutely no weapons can be brought into the training classroom. Weapons include (but is not limited to) firearms with license or permit and those carried by US military personnel, law-enforcement, including federal officers. Pocket knives, mace or mace guns, tasers, bright lights or sound equipment. These items must be stored outside of the classroom in a secure location, like a vehicle or not brought with you at all. If any of these objects are found on you or in your possession during a class, you will be asked to leave immediately, and you will not receive credit for the class nor a refund. This is for the safety of all those who are participating in the class as you will be interacting with each other at a physical level and objects in the room will be moved at the discretion of the instructor or students at any time. This is simply a mandatory safety precaution.

By signing up for a group or for an individual you acknowledge that the reaction to, possession of, and/or use of fake training weapons could be potentially dangerous, and involves risk of serious personal injury, death, psychological trauma, and/or other personal and financial liability. You agree to assume all risk and waives any and all claims of liability for personal injury, death, psychological trauma, and/or other personal or financial loss. All persons attending any training suspected to be under the influence of any controlled substance, up to and including, but not limited to Alcohol, Marijuana, Cocaine or the abuse of prescription drugs will not be able to attend training and will waive any rights to a refund. By agreeing to these terms, you are acknowledging that you and all attendees in your party will adhere to these terms. I agree to the terms above
