During the early part of the 20th century it was discovered that narrow Bands of the visible and non-visible spectrum could be used in medical technology (think X-rays, Infrared). Well now so we're still in its infancy experiments were done in orbit of the earth using similar bands are visible and non-visible light in medical experiments. These experiments you let it significant information and help to narrow down spectrums of light that were helpful and Does spectrums of light which cause harm to the body.

Over time our ability to create equipment that emits both visible and non-visible light has slowly been implemented into medical treatment. New therapies with different combinations of light I've been invented constantly and her being tested all over the world. When some of its most basic benefits well documented and has been implemented in the beauty industry in the medical rehab industry and now available to consumers. This treatment is extremely effective for many individuals with fibromyalgia or rotator cuff issues.  Similar to trigger point, it treats connective tissue called fascia.  Focusing on specific areas of the body, it helps easily release emotional and physical stress points in arms, legs, back, and shoulders.  Often incorporated into Swedish massage and viewed as a light stretching.  However, a very traditional version of this massage is through a point by point basis. Connective tissue therapy is very important to those who are active and is one of the first things I look at to reduce pain and increase performance.

Oncology massage is a general term used for those who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Oncology massage is one of the most controversial topics in the massage industry and in healthcare in general. The general goal of oncology massage is to provide a means to relax by soothing and encourage the natural healing process of the body. Each cancer has its own particular challenges and practitioners should be trained on all of those contingencies. It is recommended that you speak to a physician before having massage work if you're undergoing cancer treatment or in remission of any lymphatic cancer's. In general if you're receiving radiation or chemotherapy treatment it's recommended that you wait a minimum of 24 hours before receiving massage work. Please contact me in advance of the sessions so that it can be properly timed and tailored to your needs. Every person that gets on the table for oncology massage will always be treated as a person and not as a person with cancer, it is a time for you to relax and heal not to be poked prodded and questioned but to simply be.

This is the manipulation of your cerebral spinal fluid, releasing nerve pain and muscle strain along the spinal column.  Cranial Sacral is most effective in younger clients whose bones are still developing, but can also help mature clients. This method is often used to relieve migraine headaches and severe low back pain. This massage involves light touch and stationary holding of the low back, neck or shoulders.

Deep tissue is one of the most misunderstood terms in the massage therapy world among the general public. This technique is more than just applying extra pressure to a standard massage. Classic deep tissue massage is achieved by embracing the principle of a moving surface tissue and muscle to reach the deepest tissues closest to the bones in the body. This does have a very important therapeutic value. Classic deep tissue is usually done in a full body in no less than 90 minutes and no more than 90 minutes because the work is extremely slow and methodical as a practitioner must wait for the surface tissue to move so that they can begin work on the deepest tissue which they are targeting.

*As a special note - There are very few people that can actually endure sustained heavy pressure against their body and actually release tissue. When most people get deeper pressure it causes their bodies to stiffen to fight against the therapist during the session. This fighting is counter productive and will do more harm for the therapist and have no positive impact for the client. For all those reasons there is a limit to how much pressure I will provide someone during any massage service and when I feel the tissue fighting against me I will simply back off to a more agreeable pressure that their body better response to.
