Cupping therapy is a wonderful therapy with many benefits. Ay Tony Schwartz Bodywork I use two different styles of cups: a gliding cup (MediCupping) and a still cupping (Cupping).
MEDICUPPING THERAPY (also called D.M.T.)
Cupping therapy has been around in one form or another since Egyptian times as a method of detoxification and tissue healing. Using gentle suction on several areas of the body it can help with a range of health ailments. With modern technology vacuum cupping therapy is just the latest version of this treatment. Detox your shallow and deep tissues including stagnate blood and lymphatic fluid.
Allows release of shallow and deep scare tissue including around joints reducing pain and increasing range of motion.

Who should not have this therapy?
Out of a abundance of caution I do not provide this treatment for those who are:
pregnant (in some areas)
using blood thinners
areas around implanted medical devices or tubes
prone to thin skin
undergoing cancer treatments (unless cleared by a doctor in writing)
Doesn't "Cupping" leave marks?
Depending on the needed amount of suction some discoloration may happen. For many people this discoloration will return to normal in a few days. In rare cases some marks may last several months when the tissue disfunction is extreme.

Yes, the treatment works on the idea of light suction which will draw blood and toxins closer to the surface of the skin. This will cause discoloration and it can last anytime from a few minutes to several weeks.
Red Light Therapy
Light therapy was first noted during the time of the Greeks and over time it has slowly evolved. During the early part of the 20th century it was discovered that bands of the visible and non-visible spectrum could be used in medical technology (think X-rays, Infrared). Light therapy can be used during your session to soothe aching muscles along with other soft tissues of the body. Professional grade equipment prices have fallen drastically allowing more people to be exposed to this technology. In the setting of massage therapy these lights are used as a means to prepare the soft tissues for massage as an alternative to warm or cold which allows for a more comfortable and more soothing massage.

Contraindications:
If you have a history of photosensitivity a small test area can be exposed before a full treatment would be administered.
*This therapy has been tested on a limited basis on pregnant women, and to date no contraindications have been discovered.
This new therapy has been vetted for almost an entire year before it was introduced at Tony Schwartz Bodywork. Not only for it’s effectiveness but also it's safety for a variety of different medical needs. This therapy will have two central components: 1. In office therapeutic light therapy. 2. At home therapeutic light therapy.
In office Platinum LED Red & Infrared Light Therapy
**All forms of light therapy offered are non-laser therapies. LED therapies are less intense broad fields of light that do not offer the same benefits as laser therapy. Light therapy offered here is specifically intended and used in order to enhance massage therapy techniques. Any other benefits advertised or noted elsewhere (not on this website) may still occur but are not intended for those purposes at Tony Schwartz Bodywork.
This therapy device is used in the professional sports and rehabilitation areas of healthcare for several years. This device emits both red light and infrared light at much higher doses than found in consumer based products. The advantage of this therapy taking place in office is that with increased coverage area and power therapy can be delivered faster and done very safely under the supervision of the therapist.
Home Therapy
Home therapy devices are available for sale during office visits and are meant to complement and enhance results achieved during an office therapy sessions. Retail options are available to meet those needs using products that have been thoroughly investigated for their therapeutic properties as well as durability.

The PT400M uses one of a kind accessories specifically designed to complement older generation table adaptive accessories. With a table extender casted wheels and under mounted arm extenders. These these accessories are designed to accommodate very tall and those with broad shoulders along with the ability to make the whole table movible for PERFORM sessions.
Due to the change in shipping times as a result of the pandemic the table will be delivered hopefully by the beginning of 2022 which is about a 14 week wait time. But it will be well worth it.
